Success of the Centenary Metro Night Run in support of ALS research
More than 250 people ran through the tunnels of the Barcelona Metro last night in a unique and inspiring experience that brought together sport, the city, and research. The Centenary Metro Night Run, organised by Transports Metropolitans de Barcelona (TMB) and Corredors.cat, with the support of the Amics de l'Hospital del Mar Foundation, raised funds for Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) research projects at Hospital del Mar.
Dr Bernat Bertran, from the Hospital del Mar Research Institute, took part on behalf of the institution, which will receive all funds raised through registrations and the "Dorsal 0" solidarity initiative, available via migranodearena.org

The event also welcomed Óscar Playà, Director of the Metro Network, and Pilar Díaz, Delegate of the Catalan Government in Barcelona, who showed their support for this solidarity initiative and greeted volunteers and participants at Universitat station.
A race to remember
At 1 a.m., runners began setting off one by one every 20 seconds from Universitat station, covering 5.2 kilometres to Monumental and back. The race was not competitive but symbolic and supportive: all participants took home a commemorative T-shirt and, above all, the unforgettable experience of running inside the metro tunnels.
Xavier Flores, CEO of TMB, highlighted "the company's commitment not only to mobility, but also to the social causes that matter to the community we serve."
Thank you to everyone - participants, organisations and professionals - who made this very special night possible.
