We are launching the new Children's and Youth Day Hospital!
The users of the Litoral Mar Children's and Youth Day Hospital have already used the new spaces of this facility, located on Davant street in Portal Nou. This service, which offers specialized care to some 2,500 patients aged 8 to 17, has been transformed to make them feel that they are entering an emotional refuge, where they can feel at home, and where they will receive close therapeutic assistance.
The work has consisted of renovating the central spaces, with two multipurpose rooms, the entrance and the classrooms where group activities take place. An effort has been made to convert them into a more welcoming area. The works have been possible thanks to the support of the Fundació Nou Mil·leni and the Fundació Amics de l'Hospital del Mar, and the collaboration of the Simón Foundation, Pinturas Elias and Tarkett, as well as the participation of the Fundació Ànima and La Nau.
The Children's and Youth Day Hospital cares for boys and girls and adolescents who have or are at risk of developing mental or behavioral disorders. It treats serious psychopathological alterations, behavioral alterations or conditions that, due to their clinical complexity, present significant maladjustments. It does so with a multidisciplinary care model, thanks to a team of Psychiatry, Psychology, Nursing, TCAI, Social Education and Social Work specialized in the field of mental health.
