REMODELING WORK BEGINS ON THE CHILD AND ADOLESCENT MENTAL HEALTH HOSPITAL

On May 6th, remodeling work began on the spaces of the Child and Adolescent Mental Health Day Hospital, a specialized center that prevents and cares for more than 2.500 children and adolescents at risk of developing mental, behavioral, or addictive disorders.

The project aims to improve the spaces where these children and young people are treated so that they feel welcome, like at home, to provide them with closer and more humane therapeutic care. The planned renovation includes remodeling the central spaces with a multipurpose room, the entrance, and the classrooms where most group activities take place. The work is expected to end approximately in six weeks.

Here are some examples of what we want to achieve:

This initiative is part of the space transformation projects promoted by the Fundació d'Amics de l'Hospital del Mar, aiming to create more modern and comfortable hospital environments that evolve the concept of hospital care.

We want to make a special mention of all the companies and entities involved in this project because they believe in the need to humanize the spaces where patients are treated. Without them, this would not have been possible. Thanks to the Fundació Nou Mil·lenni, Fundació Ànima, Simón Elèctric, Fundació La Nau, Elias Decoració, and Tarkett.

Child and Adolescent Mental Health Day Hospital

The Litoral Mar Child and Adolescent Day Hospital focuses on treating severe psychopathological disorders, behavioral disturbances, or conditions that, due to their clinical complexity, present significant maladjustments.

Specialized care is provided to about 2.500 underage patients, offering them a multidisciplinary care model with a team of psychiatrists, psychologists, nurses, and social workers specialized in mental health who work with the children, young people, and their families.
