The Nou Mil·lenni Foundation signs an agreement with the Friends of the Hospital del Mar Foundation to humanize the spaces of the Infant and Juvenile Mental Health Day Hospital
On February 8th, the signing of the collaboration agreement between the Nou Mil·lenni Foundation and the Friends of the Hospital del Mar Foundation took place to humanize the spaces of the Infant and Juvenile Day Hospital, thus helping to improve the care of minors treated from these facilities.
Preventing and treating children and adolescents who present or are at risk of developing mental or behavioral disorders is essential, as is doing so in an environment where children and young people feel welcomed, like at home, in order to provide closer and more humane therapeutic assistance. For this reason, the current spaces will be transformed into an emotional refuge for minors who are cared for from the Infant and Juvenile Day Hospital. It is a building with a useful area of 458.93 m2 and the project consists of reforming the central spaces with two multipurpose rooms, the entrance, and the classrooms where most of the group activities take place.
The agreement has been signed by the president of the Friends of the Hospital del Mar Foundation, Xavier Trias, and by the vice president of the Nou Mil·lenni Foundation, Joan Puig Corcoy. During the event, Xavier Trias emphasized that "investment in mental health is essential because the return and impact it has on society is very significant." For his part, Joan Puig Corcoy stressed that "this is an investment in the future."
This project would not have been possible without the involvement of the Nou Mil·lenni Foundation and other companies such as Simon Electric, which has provided all the necessary lighting-related materials, and the Nau Foundation, which has donated the furniture.
