Thanks to Hutchinson Ports Best for their corporate challenge for breast cancer research
Interview with Blanca Guinea, Head of Human Resources, Hutchison Ports BEST.
"Because we are committed as a company and as colleagues to social responsibility, and we are proud that our company encourages us to take social actions," describes the head of human resources at Hutchinson Ports regarding their solidarity challenge for breast cancer research with the Friends of Hospital del Mar Foundation. Blanca Guinea explains it in this interview:
- Can you explain what this solidarity action has consisted of?
At BEST, we are 45 women out of 228 people. On March 8th, we organized a joint breakfast to celebrate International Women's Day, and this year we thought of having a social action. After considering several alternatives, we felt very connected to the research at Hospital del Mar, so we proposed it, and it has been a success. We have achieved our goal of raising 1,000 euros.
- Why did you decide to collaborate with breast cancer research?
It was proposed to us by the Fundació Amics de l'Hospital del Mar, and we thought it was an association of positive ideas, united fighting for something that makes our lives better for everyone. We all have someone in our circle who has suffered or is suffering from breast cancer.
- And why specifically with the Friends of Hospital del Mar Foundation?
We have been looking for an easy way to collaborate for some time, and the Friends of Hospital del Mar Foundation, through the Mi Grano de Arena website, has provided us with the easiest way to do it.
- What response have you received from your colleagues?
The initial response was good, and we have also been sending reminders with the updated results until we reached the goal of 1,000 euros.
- Why do you think these actions are beneficial for your company?
Because we are committed as a company and as colleagues to social responsibility, and we are proud that our company encourages us to take social actions. Currently, we collaborate with other entities at the company level, at the individual level, and in a mixed manner.
